GIG Holland

Grand Inspectors General Maurice J. Holland is a native of Morehead City, North Carolina and later relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia. Maurice is a 1982 graduate of Deep Creek High School,   holds Associate and Bachelor of Arts Degrees with a concentration in Business Management from Saint Leo University. Additionally, he earned an Executive Master of Business Administration Degree from Troy University in 2005.  He spent six years in the United States Air Force and recently received his 35-year pin for Federal Government Service.  He currently is the program manager for the Department of the Navy medical transportation division.

Raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason in December 1988, he served in a number of appointed lodge offices for over 20 years. While demonstrating superb leadership and total dedication to the promotion of Prince Hall Masonry, he was duly elected and installed the Worshipful Master of Brighton Rock Lodge #79 in June of 2002.  After a highly successful Masonic year in the oriental East, he was appointed to serve on several Grand Lodge committees and later appointed as the Assistant Grand Treasurer for the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Jurisdiction of Virginia Inc. He was elected to the Grand Lodge Board of Directors for the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Jurisdiction of Virginia in 2011 and served with distinction until he departed for Spain in 2014.  He has earned numerous accolades, awards, certificates and citations for his dedicated and service to his lodge, community, church and family.

GIG Holland has been heavily involved in Scottish Rite Masonry for over 30 years and is excited to share his experiences with any frater.  He is a hard worker and extends his friendship beyond jurisdiction lines.  Some of his accomplishments are:
